This required 4-hour course is designed for individuals wanting to purchase a handgun (in Maryland) but have little to no handgun instruction.

This 4-hour course satisfies the training requirement to renew a Maryland HQL (a must have to purchase a handgun in Maryland). (Maryland requires a re-do of the HQL training).
This 8-hour course satisfies the training requirement to apply for a renewal of a Maryland WCP. (this is typically day 1 of the WCP training).
This 4-hour course satisfies the training requirement to apply for a renewal of a non-resident WCP in Florida.
This 3-hour course is designed for active duty military & honorably discharged veterans who want to apply for a WCP in Maryland (resident & non-resident). While Maryland exempts you from the required training, we believe there is still a need for knowing Maryland laws and proper firearm handling & safety.

This 4-hour course is designed to reach women who are brand new to firearms, ready to learn more about defensive shooting, and be prepared to carry confidently every day with tips & techniques.

Course certificates DO NOT authorize an individual to purchase or wear & carry a handgun or guarantee the issuance of a license/permit. All persons MUST apply to the respective state(s), submit applicable documents, fees, fingerprints, photos, and pass the background investigation.
No "live" ammunition allowed in the classroom at any time unless pre-authorized by an instructor (including law enforcement).
Chalet Firearms Training reserves the right to refuse service to any person for any reason. If our instructors detect the presence of alcohol or a controlled substance, students will be denied entry and fees forfeited. We take our training seriously and the safety of our students and instructors is always the priority!
Training is required for every original application and renewal submitted after October 1, 2013, unless exempt. Some exemptions are below:

Courses are non-refundable and must be fully paid before instruction begins.
If unable to attend a scheduled class, CFT must me notified at least 48hrs PRIOR to the start day/time. Re-scheduling is allowed at no additional charge. Cancellations less than 48hrs prior will not be rescheduled or refunded.
